Achilles Tendoni - what?
A visit to the dentist last Saturday brought me some news;"You may need to surgically remove your wisdom tooth." ...oh no!...
"The procedure takes 1 hour" ... :O ...
"but there'll be no pain" ... phew ...
"just that you'll need to rest for 2 to 3 days after that." .... !!!!!! .....
I even forgot to ask how much it'll cost...
And before i can even digest this news fully, another bad news lands upon me. I woke up this morning and my ankle is swollen. The doc diagnosed and told me "You've got what its called 'achilles tendinosis, also known as achilles tendonitis'. " I looked it up in google...and it means a soreness and stiffness that comes on gradually and continues to worsen until treated.

The core cause of this was 2 years back...when i was in UK, i sat 7 hours in the ride to London with my ankle bent on a weird angle. I had no idea that anything like that could happen!!! That's because the luggage was below my feet (or was it some shooting equipments??) and I didn't want to step on it! How silly....look what mess I've got myself into!!
While i had no idea, i got back to Sunderland just fine..but only for a day or two. A pain started to build up at the back of the ankle, and day after day it got worse. I realised it at day 6 when flatmates pointed out to me that i was limping already. I was given this ointment thingy to rub...flatmate told me that it'll help, so i tried.
I woke up at 7am in the morning...and fell on my knees the moment i stood up from bed! I couldn't stand upright!!! I couldn't put any pressure on my left leg at all..... and so I limped all the way to uni.
Rest of the details i shall not go into, but I only got an appointment the next day, when the pain nearly killed me on the same day. I popped panadols and slept coz the pain became unbearable!! And when i finally went for my appointment the next day, the pain had subsided (thanks to panadol) and the doc said its just swollen and gave me ibuprofen...... that's it!?!?!
So i got better, but i didn't heal (i think) coz i didn't rest my leg. Constant walking for hours and hours daily didn't help ....and now i've done it again. Over stretched it and now my tendon's inflamed. No running, no steps!! And Mr. Claim-to-know-it-all just told me that i should rest it for 1 month?!?! And i thought 2 weeks was being safe!!!!
What a week!! So much for all the holiday and adventure plans that i made!!... and so much for joining the gym and starting the new resolution and all!! I guess i need to resort to swimming to exercise and as physiotherapy?? But i do love swimming....so that's not too bad for me ;)
